It is the beginning of a new year!

We are so excited to let you know about all the new and improved aspects of our programs this fall.  If you are a returning family, I’m sure you have already noticed a few changes in our programs for the 2011-2012 season. We are always striving to create and provide the best programs we can for your athletes.

We have divided our competitive team into 4 groups to provide each gymnast with the most personalized and appropriate program for them. The Competitive Fun Program (3x/week), the Competitive Program (4x/week) the Competitive Elite Program (4-6x/week) and the Competitive High Performance Program (6x/week with extended hours).

Modelling some aspects our program after many of the most successful training facilities in Russia and Eastern Europe, this year we are providing multiple instructors all working in their true specialty. We believe this will create an environment where each instructor is their most effective, teaching within their areas of expertise and not overloaded with work.  By delegating out the fitness, ballet, administration and recreational classes to amazing, qualified staff members, we (Camille and Brie) will now have more time to focus strictly on the gymnastics side of training: warm-ups, body and apparatus technique, routines, choreography, music, leotards, skill choices, scripts, competition preparation, peeking programs and competitions. These enhancements to our program will allow for more personal time and attention for each athlete.

We are so excited to boost our athletes’ training this year with personal fitness instructor, Lori Moger.  Lori holds a Masters in Kinesiology and Bachelors in Exercise Science. Her experience comes from some of the best facilities in the U.S., including Spectrum Club, L.A., The Michigan Athletic Club and The Mayo Clinic. She will be helping the girls with all of their cardio and conditioning, keeping them in tip top shape and injury free!  Lori has a true passion for our club and also has her daughter Halle, in our Competitive program.

Gilian Kilgour will also be returning as our Ballet Master. Her many years of learning dance, her experience as a professional dancer and her countless hours of teaching (in her own schools/companies and also for others for over 25 years) make her a rare find indeed!  With her expanded knowledge of not only dance, but also anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, Pilates and Gyrotonics, Gilian pushes the girls for amazing ballet technique without compromising the safety of their bodies.

We are thrilled to already be seeing the benefits of an expanded recreational program rolling over to help our stars!  It has always been our goal to support and subsidize our competitive program by having a large recreational base. With so many new recreational classes filling we are able to (at least for this season) provide to you the new and expanded services mentioned above with almost no fee increases!  This expansion has been made possible by popular demand of our programs and through two amazing coaches, Tammy Andreotti and Tanya Wisse.  Both NCCP Level 3 certified gymnastics coaches they will be leading our Parent and Tot, Pre-school and Recreational classes as well as helping competitive team members with basics, jumps, risks, acro skills, execution drills and more.

New to our team, Tanya has a Bachelors degree in Education.  She developed and ran the extremely successful recreational gymnastics program at the University of Calgary and has run various programs in Europe.  She has lots of experience with administration and will be assisting us in keeping all the club paper work, newsletters, invoices and general communication flowing smoothly.

We have spent lots of recent energy and attention researching and talking with field experts on how to provide the best training schedule for our athletes. We have selected the best training times and recovery time spans (thus some changes) to keep our athletes strong and prepared.

We are excited about what this year holds and can’t wait to share it with you!
