15 years of excellence in sport and art!

The Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics Club (ORGC) was founded by
Canadian Olympian Camille Martens in 1997.

This summer (2011) the Cirque Theatre Company (CTC) joined
Okanagan Rhythmics to offer summer camps and diverse
gymnastics programs for boys and girls ages 6+.

This fall (2011) we are excited to again be working with CTC
to offer parent and tot, pre-school, gerenal gymanstics and performance classes for
boys and girls (2 and up).

All our RG athletes (beginners to elite) have been trained in diverse, stimulating and challenging programs. Training regimens include class work in dance, conditioning, flexibility, coordination, drama, video analysis, music interpretation, expression, sport psychology, personal organization, perforrmance and nutrition.

Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics has hosted athletes (for camps, training programs and exchanges) from across Canada, as well as from Mexico, Norway, Austria, Denmark and the USA.

Our athletes have made finals and/or won medals at:

Jr. Pan Am Games, Copa Panamericana, various
Canadian/American and European Invitationals

Since it’s inception Okanagan Rhythmics has had the opportunity of working with an elite international coaching staff.  Olympian Birgit Schielin of Austria provided exciting demonstrative example, Svetlana Rasseko from the Republic of Belarus shared extensive expertise in technique and program structure, Vlodya Makarov from the Ukraine provided the ballet and character base that is essential to good results, Linda Wei from China brought more international flare and specialized in classical ballet.  Rachel Martens added dramatic flare breath work and correct posture and alignment.  Tammy Andreotti completely raised the bar in our understaning of artistic gymnastics and acro/tumbling.  Brie-Anne MacPherson has brought knowledge, organization, choreography and a fresh 'younger' perspective to our team.  Gilian Kilgour has strengthened our ballet base and has helped us protect growing bodies thourgh her in-depth knowledge of our sport and both pilates and gyrotonics.  New to our team this year is Tanya Wisse whose qualifications are many and her experiences extremely broad.  Tanya's administration, organization and passion for recreational program development are sure to help us reach new heights.  Head Coach/Club Owner Camille Martens has inspired, encouraged, coached, choreographed and directed aiming to light (and maintain) the fires of excellence, joy and movement in many.

We have also been blessed to have had injury prevention and recovery work done by a variety of talented sports physiotherapists, doctors, masseurs, personal trainers and other health experts.  This year we are excited to be working with Lori Moger (Breakaway Fitness).

Together with this incredible support team, with the help of phenominal parents, through hard work, perseverance, and dedication our athletes have achieved tremendous results in competition, in community development/contributions, in shows/productions
and in personal growth.
